Just for teens ages 13–18 , a free virtual studio visit with MAD Artist-in-Residence Yuki Elif Uras. Teen Art Salons are organized and hosted on Zoom by MAD’s Artslife teen interns.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Elif Uras’s ceramic sculptures and paintings explore shifting notions of gender and class. Her imagery merges traditional nonfigurative Turkish art with Western figurative traditions, while exploring the representation of the female body across cultures. Uras has exhibited nationally and internationally, including exhibitions at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, MoMA PS1, and the 9th Shanghai Biennale. She received an MFA from Columbia University, a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and BA from Brown University, and a JD degree from the Columbia University School of Law.
