Tiina Rajakallio
Tiina Rajakallio (Finland) is a jewelry artist who approaches her craft from both artistic and design perspectives. She earned her master’s degree from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts & Design in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2008. Her work is included in international private collections, as well as in the CODA Apeldoorn Museum in the Netherlands, the Finnish Arts Council, the Horology and Jewelry Museum Kruunu, and the Finnish Jewelry Art Association’s collection.
Rajakallio’s creations are driven by playfulness, vibrant colors, and simple three-dimensional structures. She works primarily with Finnish PEFC-certified birch plywood, which is laser-cut into distinctive shapes, and surgical steel for metal components. Her “Bubble” series reinterprets traditional pearl jewelry, while other pieces explore themes of transformation and impermanence through butterfly motifs. Through her work, Rajakallio merges contemporary aesthetics with a respect for material integrity and craftsmanship.
