Akane Hayashi
Akane Hayashi (Japan) is a contemporary jewelry artist with a background in painting, drawing, and textile arts. In 2019, she began creating contemporary jewelry in earnest, developing a unique approach that intertwines human psychology, nature, and language. Hayashi explores the deep connection between humans and the natural world, drawing on the way metaphors of nature and living beings reflect human behavior and emotions.
Her signature technique—sewing sequins with thread—creates organic, cell-like forms reminiscent of division and differentiation, visualizing the complexities of human psychology and behavior. She views jewelry not only as a form of self-expression but also as a communication tool and a talisman that empowers the wearer.
In 2014, Hayashi received the Special Jury Prize in Japan for her contemporary jewelry. Her work has been exhibited in prestigious showcases, including Arte y Joya, Cluster Contemporary Jewelry Fair, and the Japan Jewelry Exhibition.
