Yu Hiraishi
Yu Hiraishi (Japan) is a jewelry artist and sculptor whose work is deeply rooted in traditional Japanese aesthetics and contemporary artistic exploration. Drawing inspiration from Japan’s historical approach to three-dimensional design—exemplified in kimono construction and origami—Hiraishi transforms flat, geometric forms into dynamic sculptural pieces. By connecting simple rectangular shapes, she creates intricate, three-dimensional compositions that embody both structural precision and artistic fluidity. Hiraishi works primarily with brass, employing techniques such as soldering and painting to bring her designs to life.
She graduated from Musashino Art University in Tokyo and has pieces in esteemed collections, including the Museum of Arts and Design (USA), Premio Cominelli Foundation (Italy), Musée Espace Solidor Cagnes-sur-Mer (France), and China JCC Center (China). In 2013, she received the "ENJOIA’T: A-FAD JOYA" Premio Enjoia’t Professional award in Spain, further cementing her influence in contemporary jewelry and sculptural art.
