Chiara Fenicia
Chiara Fenicia (Italy) received a classical education before specializing in Graphic Design at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Rome. While continuing her work in graphic design, she discovered a passion for jewelry making in 2016, repurposing old, rusted metal pieces found on streets and in abandoned places. By incorporating pearls, stones, and precious and semi-precious metals, she transforms these materials into contemporary jewelry, preserving their essence with protective resins.
Fenicia has exhibited her work at the past four editions of Rome Jewelry Week, the Visionaries exhibition at Milan Fashion & Jewels, and the Cluster Contemporary Jewellery show at Protein Studios in London in 2024.
"Rusty iron fascinates me because it tells stories of experience," she explains. "It’s shades of color and worn edges speak of time, marked by outdoor life, the elements, and the challenges of years spent under rain, wind, or sea. In my creations, these materials retain their original essence—I love the idea of giving them a new life while preserving their soul."
