Joana Correia (Portugal) embraces imperfection as a source of strength, viewing jewelry as a medium for transformation and self-expression. Inspired by reimagining heirloom pieces, she crafts collections from organic, storied materials.
Her academic journey spans graphic and exhibition design (IADE, Lisbon), an MA in product design (London Metropolitan University), an MA in arts education (King’s College London), and a PhD in arts education. This interdisciplinary background informs her innovative approach to contemporary jewelry.
Since opening her Lisbon showroom in 2021, Correia has collaborated with social organizations and exhibited her “Silk Cocoon”and “Orange Peel” collections at the Silk Museum (Castelo Branco, 2023) and Artistar Jewels 2024 at Milan Jewelry Week. Through these organic collections, she explores nature’s resilience and adaptability—reminding us that neither life nor jewelry begins from a blank slate.
