Pilar Restrepo
Pilar Restrepo (Columbia) is the visionary designer behind PI PROJECT, where she merges artistic delicacy, architectural precision, and artisanal passion. Guided by an aesthetic obsession, her work transforms geometric complexity into poetry, blending color and material with mathematical precision.
Her “Color Threads Series,” inspired by the Acapulco chair, pays homage to the Latin American tropics and their sensory richness. Hand-drawn designs evolve into woven compositions of vibrant threads over recycled sterling silver, oxidized to deepen the interplay of hues. This meticulous process results in jewelry that appears in constant movement.
In her “Ceramic Carmen Series,” Pilar reinterprets the artisanal ceramics of El Carmen de Viboral, a Colombian town renowned for its hand-painted pottery. Collaborating with El Carmen Experimental, she challenges artisans to translate their craft onto small-scale jewelry pieces, where each ceramic form unveils a unique color identity. Through these collections, Pilar reshapes tradition with innovation, honoring Latin American heritage in wearable art.
