Ute Kolar
Ute Kolar (Italy), is from Austria and studied at HTBLVA Graz-Ortweinschule (Kunst & Design, Jewelry and Metal Design) from 1981 to 1986 before beginning her career as a freelance artist. In 1991, she moved to Viterbo, Italy, where she lives and works. Inspired by nature’s structures and rhythms, she experiments with wood and enamel, though metal remains her primary medium.
Since 1986, Kolar has exhibited internationally, including Schmuckin Munich, Collect London, and LOOTat the Museum of Arts and Design in New York. Her work is in the Steirisches Landesmuseum Joanneum and the Alice & Louis Koch Collection.
Her artistic process is meditative, layering small elements into intricate forms. Her jewelry captures fleeting natural moments—wind sweeping fields, storm-shaken trees, shifting light. Using wood, enamel, and metal, she crafts rings, brooches, and necklaces that embody the harmony and movement of nature.
