Cristina Zani
Cristina Zani (Scotland), is an Italian jewelry artist who draws inspiration from the narratives of urban landscapes, exploring the interplay of geometry, color, and material in her work. She primarily employs wood, often integrating metal to craft bold, sculptural pieces. Her creative process is largely intuitive, allowing for unexpected moments to shape the final outcome.
Cristina earned an MFA in Jewelry from Edinburgh College of Art in 2012, a journey profoundly influenced by her time in Seoul. A bursary enabled her to study jewelry-making there for four months in 2011, where she was captivated by the stark contrasts between ancient and modern architecture. This dynamic interplay continues to inform her aesthetic, even as her work evolves to incorporate new materials and color palettes. Through her instinctive approach to craftsmanship, Cristina creates striking compositions that embody both structural precision and organic spontaneity.
